Building permit leads: questions and answers

How Curbside Signal turns public building permits into contractor leads: data sources, delivery, pricing and the guarantee.

Where does the data come from?

Public building-permit records that cities and counties publish on their open-data portals (Socrata, ArcGIS, CKAN and similar). Each page names its source dataset and the date it was last pulled.

Does a permit mean the job is still open?

Usually not: a permit typically means the job is sold. The value is neighbor marketing around active jobs, cross-trade follow-on work, and competitor intelligence.

Do you include homeowner names or phone numbers?

No. Public permit data generally doesn't include homeowner names, and we don't add them or skip-trace phone numbers. You get the job address, ZIP, scope and declared value.

How do I know you cover my ZIPs?

Ask for a free sample with your trade and ZIPs before you buy. We only sell jurisdictions we actually pull, and we show you the trailing 8-week average count first.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Plans are monthly and you can cancel from the billing portal linked in your receipt. Enterprise is annual.

What if my ZIPs aren't covered?

Then we won't sell them to you. Request a free sample first; we check the trailing 8-week permit count for your trade and ZIPs before you pay.

What is the guarantee?

The same two rules on every package. If a weekly file is late or missing, that month is free. If a month delivers under half the 8-week average permit count for your ZIPs and trade, the next month is free.

How will Exclusive Territory be enforced?

Each trade and ZIP cluster is locked to one buyer in our territory table, first come, first served. If anyone else is sold your trade in your ZIPs, that month is refunded.
