What feeds a fencing list

  • Fence and gate permits
  • Pool permits that require a barrier
  • New construction and additions
How fence contractors use it

Ways to work the list

  • Mail the neighbors on each side of a new fence: they share the line.
  • Pitch pool barriers to new pool permits.
  • Find the builders who sub out fencing.
Cross-trade follow-on

The honest limit. A permit usually means the job is already sold. We say that up front. The value is what happens around it:

  • Neighbor marketing around active jobs: same-age houses on the same street.
  • Cross-trade follow-on demand: new roof → solar, gutters, insulation; remodel → HVAC, electrical, landscaping, pool; new build → pest, security, landscaping.
  • Competitor intelligence: which contractors pull permits where (where the jurisdiction publishes it), and who to recruit as subs.
  • Early-stage projects for commercial trades and GC subs.

Fencing permit lead questions

Do all cities permit fences?

No. Many only permit fences above a height or in certain zones. Where fences aren't permitted, pool and new-build permits are the signal.

Does a permit mean the job is still open?

Usually not: a permit typically means the job is sold. The value is neighbor marketing around active jobs, cross-trade follow-on work, and competitor intelligence.
